the area where he eventually ran in to george zimmerman. this where it all begin. it's important to note at the time this purchase was made, 6:24 and very rainy night here in sanford, florida. >> you eyewitness testimony in a case like this one is critical. the decedent and defendant has given a reenactment of what happened. so we came out here tonight to fact check to see whether or not anyone who is in these apartments might have been able to see a little bit more or see a little less. >> you can see as we walk there is not a lot of light back here other than the occasional apartment cast some light out. when the lights aren't on here, i can tell you i can't identify someone five feet in front of me. it's that dark back here. at least now. i assume the lighting conditions back here are very

much similar to what they were at night on february 26th. this is the area right here to my right which is where the decedent's body was found and where george zimmerman said he was lying and his head was pounded against the cement is about here. this is the area right here. according george, george had walked, george was down to my left. he made a phone call to the police and he intended to go this direction and go towards the clubhouse which was down there. between the last seconds that george zimmerman, phone records show, last time he link up with police and 911 call was put by a citizen, a minute and 20 seconds, presumably something happened right about here. the jury has to decide who

was the aggressor, whether george was defending himself or not. that is the task we give the jury and prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt and defense has to prove absolutely nothing. >> now the jury has spoken but questions still linger what happened on that dark night especially during four crucial minutes. ted williams injection us. >> my pleasure. >> greta: you and i went out to the scene. you were there with me and walked back there. in the four-minute period is the time that trayvon martin told rachel he was going to run and the time of the first 911 call. it's about a minute off and make it three minutes, someone has to go from hearing the fight to make the phone call to 911. is that time reference important and why? >> yeah. it is important. i can tell you greta, i've

been racking my mind about it. those are the four minutes where trayvon martin could have ran and gone home. i tried to put myself in the place of trayvon martin for those four minutes. all i can think of is that four minutes to us, as you remember mr. o'mara played in it courted and emphasized these four minutes. i have thought about it. trayvon, i wonder what was going through his head. remember, greta, it's dark. it's raining. a silhouette is following you. you are on the phone with jeantel. you do i want to bring this person home with me. why is this person following me. all of that was going on in this young child's mind. i would have to believe, and that is lifetime. four minutes. you know how dark it was back

there. i heard you -- you couldn't even see five feet in front of you when there was no silhouette lighting. what was going through his head. why didn't he run home. why didn't he run to safety. did he run towards zimmerman. did zimmerman run after him these are so many questions. >> greta: this is the important thing that jurors have to understand. what really did happen out there, no one could know but the prosecution had to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that george zimmerman was the aggressor. with the four minute gap and opportunity to run home the jurors quite reasonably, i'm not sure if he was really scared or stayed to confront. but absent proof beyond a reasonable doubt, that is what the prosecution was dealing with and made it so difficult. it's the burden of proof of the case? >> it was the burden of

can't speak to what he was thinking because it changes. he was the only person that was there every single day. he encountered every juror. every bit of testimony. we did not because we were excluded from the courtroom. george is a spirit you'll person and i'm sure he made amends with whatever he had to. i know he feels innocent and feels well represented. >> greta: we working hard during the day and go back to office and prepare for the day. client goes home. we never have find to find out how the client is doing. are there moments of great sorrow? >> our parents were in the courtroom and my mom told me he did get emotional. he didn't get emotional right when the verdict was announced, but he did say he wanted to go home. mom, i want to go home and

was relieved and emotional. >> greta: what was the first thing he said to you after the verdict? >>ly tell you, i said in it spanish, it's the last thing i said to him, which means god bless you little brother. i think that is what he needed to hear. that is what i needed to say. >> greta: there is no secret this has racial overtone. you mentioned spanish. your brother is hispanic. what is your thoughts about it. pitting white against black and your family is hispanic? >> it's unfortunate that race has any role in this situation at all. i even think the prosecutor and her press conference, race did not have no role in this case whatsoever. as a family we were delivered

to keep our hispanic identity off the table. it became white versus black and we didn't think inject that into that. we're hispanic we can't be racist. only white people will be racist. so keeping our race was very deliberate and very wise. it is something that our mother insisted upon who is peruian. >> my little since called and my dad had been hospitalized. whether she told me that someone had died i thought it was one of them. it involves george which was kind of mysterious. what happened. she said he was involved in an altercation and he used his gun to defend himself. george is going to call you and fill you in himself. he wants to tell you the truth and every member of his family the truth from his own mouth.
